Smart phones that keep businesses running
Mobile technology has so much advanced in the last few years, it is now completely possible to run a business from an Internet enabled smartphone while on the go. The new breed of phones are not just Blackberry copycats, but fully equipped competitors that - depending on your needs - can make a Blackberry look out of date. We have gathered a quick comparison of 6 popular smartphones that might be worth to be considered your next wireless phone.
Here is the review and rating for the Palm Treo 700p and the Cingular 8525
Palm Treo 700p
Phoneseasy rating: 8
The good: The new Palm Treo 700p boosts EV-DO support, has a 1.3-megapixel camera, offers increased memory, and has a sharp display as well as it offers Bluetooth 1.2. This smart phone can also be used as a wireless modem for your laptop. The call quality is very solid and enhanced compared to the older Treo 650.
The bad: The Palm Treo 700p lacks integrated Wi-Fi capability and runs the outdated Palm Operating System version 5.4.9. It would also be a real plus if Bluetooth 2.0 would be supported
Conclusion: With EV-DO support, increased memory and really enhanced multimedia capabilities, the Palm Treo 700p makes a powerful smart phone even better. Sure, it's not perfect, but the solid performance and new features make it worth the upgrade.
Cingular 8525
Phoneseasy rating: 8
The good: The Cingular 8525 is the first (!) UMTS/HSDPA smart phone to be offered in the USA. Different from the Palm Treo 700p it has integrated Bluetooth 2.0 AND Wi-Fi capabilities. It also supports Cingular's new location-based services. The Windows Mobile device also has push e-mail capabilities, a 2-megapixel camera, a spacious QWERTY keyboard and good call quality.
The bad: The Cingular 8525 is a little bit on the heavier side, and the navigation array is a bit cramped into the device. The smart phone is also a little on the pricey side of things.
Conclusion: For the ultimate road warrior, the 3G-enabled Cingular 8525 provides the speed, power and productivity tools to get the work done on the go.

I personally hope Palm can stay in Business after the release of iPhone in June of 2007.
